Catholic Charities of California is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization representing the twelve Catholic Charities Agencies in the State of California. The state organization serves as a strong voice at the State Capitol for Catholic Charities Agencies in California and the poor and vulnerable people we serve. We are committed to finding and promoting solutions at the state and local levels to reduce poverty and human suffering in our state. 

Catholic Charities Agencies have served those who are poor and vulnerable in California for over 100 years.  It is our proud tradition to serve those in need, regardless of income, gender, religion, race, age, and sexual orientation. 

Our Catholic Tradition
Catholic Charities of California is guided by the gospel values of justice and compassion.  During the visit of Pope Benedict XVI to the United States, in his address to the gathering of U.S. Bishops, he said:  "Let me express my particular appreciation for the many forms of humanitarian assistance provided by American Catholics through Catholic Charities and other agencies.  Their generosity has borne fruit in the care shown to the poor and needy."
